Year 11 homework
In pairs, prepare 5 slides on how Golding presents one of the following themes in Chapter 1:
- Leadership, politics and society
- Civilisation vs savagery
- Symbols (conch, glasses, choir)
- Innocence vs loss of innocence
The slides should be as follows:
Slide 1: A link to a song that you think captures your theme or Chapter One well. You can let this play quietly throughout the slideshow
Slides 2-4: Each slide should have:
1) a clear point about your theme
2) three pieces of evidence to back it up
3) a thoughtful explanation of that evidence
4) an idea about what Golding might have been referring to in the real world (context)
Slide 5: Explain why you chose the song you did.
